CHIMBORAZO VOLCANO CLIMB

Itinerary Day 1:
Meeting with the guide for check the equipment in Quito office at 8:30 am
Travel to Chimborazo Reserve.
Lunch
Information about the Volcano, history, animals, plants, etc.
Transport to the Parking lot
Short walk to Carrel Bros. Refuge (4800 m - 15748 ft)
If our tour is with Refuge, we will rest there, otherwise we will put on our equipment & walk to the high camp approximately 3 hours.
In the afternoon we will have a talk & School of Glacier to handle equipment, depending on the weather.
Dinner & rest.
Itinerary Day 2:
From the Carrel Brothers Refuge we will take a cup of tea & our bag pack with the necessary things and we will go out the attempt to the summit of Chimborazo Volcano between 9 to 10 hours walking on ice, very slowly, from the high camp we will leave at midnight to arrive at the sunrise.
Begin the walk down to the Refuge
Breakfast
Return to Quito around 5 pm or you will be approached to a bus terminal to continue your trip if you wish to relax in Baños City, for example.

NOTE: The Chimborazo Reserve rule is working in rope of 2 tourists with 1 guide, if one of the tourists makes the decision to go down without reaching the summit for any reason, all the ropes return, if the group is bigger and we have more guides there, one guide goes down and the others can continue climbing (just if it possible & if the other group agrees). Also, the guide will decide if the climb finish if we have any reason of risk, weather changes, etc.
