COTOPAXI VOLCANO TOUR

 

We will take a road trip in the Highlands of Ecuador, touring the Avenue of the Volcanoes to visiting the Cotopaxi Volcano National Park, which is the highest and most active in Ecuador located in the middle of the Ecuadorian Andes, at 2 hours in the south of Quito, here we will hike to the Cotopaxi Refuge at 4864 meters above sea level, hike to the Glaciers, for tourists who wish, they can do a down hill by bicycle & visit to the Limpiopungo Lagoon in the lower part of the Cotopaxi National Park.

Itinerary:

  • Start at 07:00 am in the meeting point
    Travel to Cotopaxi National Park
    Arrive to Limpiopungo lagoon
    Information about the Volcano / history, animals, plants etc

  • Begin the hike to Jose Rivas Refuge (4810 m - 15950 ft) 45 minutes approximately

  • Hike down to parking lot
    Biking downhill to Limpiopungo lagoon (optional - 1 hour approximately)
    Lunch
    Return to Quito
